Centennial
When I first read Centennial by James A Michener
I literally couldn't put it down. A big saga focused on the history of the plains of northeast Colorado
from prehistory until the early 1970s. The storyline is so strong
it soaked into my soul and has remained there. Michener's characters
are sublime and you follow their lives and live their experiences
alongside them. Little Beaver, Michener's Arapaho indian, has had
as significant influence on my life as many close friends have
had.
I would encourage everyone to read Centennial. It is, quite simply, an experience.
